An Active chamber musician, Micaela Fruend performs regularly with Stony Brook Chamber Ensemble. In recent years, she has performed in the Innsbrook Institute Institute Summer Music Academy and Festival, the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival Next Generation Concert Series, Madeline Island Fellowship String Quartet Program, and Astona International Summer Music Academy. She has been coached by members of the Arianna, Brooklyn Rider, Daedalus, Emerson, Enso, Jupiter, and Pacifica String Quartets.
A graduate of East Carolina University, Fruend received a bachelor of Music in Violin Performance and a Certificate of Advanced Performance Studies in Viola where she studied with Ara Gregorian and Melissa Reardon. Fruend is currently pursuing her Master of Music in viola performance at Stony Brook University under the tutelage of Nicholas Cord and Lawrence Dutton.
