Dr. Justin Waller
Justin teaches trombone and baritone horn (all levels), intermediate trumpet, tuba and French horn and beginner guitar and piano.He began teaching in 2004.
In 2017, he received a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Performance at Stony Brook University; he has a Master’s in Music from Stony Brook and a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Columbus State University.
Justin has frequently subbed with orchestras in the Southeast, including a world premiere at Symphony Space in 2011 and performed a concerto with the S.A.U. Orchestra.
He has studied with Michael Powell, American Brass Quintet; Brad Palmer, CSU and Doug Warner, Chattanooga Symphony and Opera.He’s had multiple lessons and performed in master classes with trombonists from groups such as the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Met Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony and more.
Justin is a teaching assistant for the Stony Brook Music Department and an adjunct instructor of low brass at Suffolk Community College
