Emika Wada began her piano studies at the age of 4 and graduated from LIU Post with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 2013 with a concentration in piano and clarinet. Emika has studied piano performance, pedagogy, and piano accompaniment with Pheroze Mehta, Dr. Charis Dimaris, and Dr. Janet Galvan of the Ithaca College School of Music, as well as Stephanie Watt and Dr. Paul Kim from LIU Post.
She also studied woodwind performance and pedagogy with David Sapadin at LIU Post. Emika has performed in various venues including the Tilles Center, the Stallar Center, and Carnegie Hall. She has also traveled with the LIU Post Wind Symphony on performance tours in China and Puerto Rico.
Emika’s music education studies consisted of working with Dr. Susan Avery, Dr. Jennifer Scott Miceli, Dr. James McRoy, Joseph Pergola, and Grammy Award winning music educator, Elaine Gates. Emika has been teaching privately for 10 years, and has taught concert band, orchestra, and general music to grades Pre K - 8 in NYC Schools.
She is currently teaching general music to grades K-2 in the Miller Place School District.
