Violinist Aviva Hakanoglu was born and raised in New York City, and is pursuing a Doctorate in performance at Stony Brook University. She received her Master’s degree from Indiana University.
While at IU, she studied pedagogy with Mimi Zweig, and is now an active teacher and performer. During the summers, Aviva has attended festivals such as the Bowdoin Music Festival, Heifetz Institute, and Chautauqua Musical Festival.
A passionate chamber musician, she has performed in ensembles under the guidance of the Emerson Quartet, Pacifica Quartet, Boston Trio, and Borromeo Quartet. Aviva received her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Music from Harvard University. In addition to her musical pursuits, Aviva enjoys reading, running, and cooking.
